THE CITY COURSE WITH COUNTRY STYLE 

South Downs Country Club is situated in Kibler Park in the southern suburbs of Johannesburg, nestled among koppies and bird life.

The Bloubos Spruit runs through the centre of the course and is a key feature on a number of holes.

South Downs Country Club was started in 1947 as Virginia park Golf Club but the official name has always been South Downs Country Club.

The current Clubhouse with its myriad features and facilities is a far cry from its humble beginnings.

Bar:
The bar has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere where all visitors are welcomed. 

Lounge:
Our lounge facilities cater for your specific requirements for functions up to 120 people

The Course:
The Golf Course boasts some of the best Bent Grass greens on the Highveld.

• Longest Hole: no. 4 par 5, 572m requires long drive and second shot, well bunkered left and right.
• Shortest Hole: no. 5 par 3, 125m almost surrounded by water

Membership:

Is open to all and fees are reasonable.

Competitions are held regularly, as well as special golf days for corporate customers and their clients.

The Ladies Section is open and organises regular competitions.

The Junior Section is growing and there are some expert golfers in their midst.

There is a strong social element in the club which welcomes new members whilst cherishing the old.

Not only the golfers, but also their spouses and family will always be welcomed at South Downs Country Club.
